Mr. Corey Weeks

I am beyond blessed and excited to be a part of the Raymond K. Smith Administrative team. Our job is to make sure that every child is prepared to succeed both academically and socially in a complex world. Every child needs to be future-ready. At R.K. Smith we challenge students to help them prepare for the future. 

I am in my 16th year as an educator. All 16 years have been with St. Charles Parish Public Schools. I am a proud graduate of Hahnville High School. After that, I received my B.S. in Elementary Education from the University of New Orleans. 

I taught 6th-grade math and science at RK Smith in the Spring of 2008.  From there, I taught 4th and 5th grade at Lakewood Elementary for 11 years. I taught summer school every year for all 11 years of my teaching career. During this time I earned my M. ED, in Administration and Leadership, from Southeastern Louisiana University.

I am entering my fifth year as one of the Assistant Principals at RKS. I am grateful for every minute that I have spent at this wonderful school. Furthermore, I have served as the Principal of summer school in 2020, 2021, 2022, and 2023.  

The most important thing that I am reminded of every day is that working with our students is a blessing. Our staff is some of the most gifted faculty in the world, and we believe the Power of One: One Mind, One Mission, One Vision, One R.K. Smith: that's kids first.
